Plataforma para el diálogo "Crisis migratorias en las fronteras de América Latina"

Esta plataforma analizará y debatirá las crisis migratorias en las zonas de frontera de América Latina. Está abierta a la comparación con Europa y otras regiones del mundo. Distintas zonas y países viven una crisis migratoria y una crisis en sus fronteras. Esta crisis no deriva necesariamente de motivos cuantitativos, ya que en la historia humana y en la historia del siglo XIX y XX pueden encontrarse numerosos casos donde la proporción de migrantes fue mayor en varios países, entre otros en los países que recibieron inmigrantes europeos en América Latina.

Convocatoria: Cátedra CALAS-IEAT

Está abierta la convocatoria anual para el Programa de Cátedra CALAS-IEAT ofertada por el Centro Maria Sibylla Merian de Estudios Avanzados Latino-americanos (CALAS por sus siglas en inglés) y por el Instituto de Estudios Avanzados Transdisciplinarios (IEAT) de la Universidad Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG). El programa está dirigido por IEAT y patrocinado por CALAS. La cátedra comprende una estadía de tres meses para la investigadora o investigador extranjero en el IEAT.

Martin Grossmann

Martin Grossmann hold a Ph.D. from the University of Liverpool. He is Full Professor of the School of Communication and Arts of University of São Paulo (USP). He served as director of the Institute of Advanced Studies at USP since 2012 and was director of the Centro Cultural São Paulo from 2006 to 2010. He is creator and coordinator of “Forum Permanente: Between Public and Private”, a mediation and cultural action platform.

Mario Rufer

Mario Rufer holds a PhD in Asian and African Studies from El Colegio de México with a specialization in History and Anthropology. He is currently Professor-Researcher in the Department of Education and Communication of the Division of Social Sciences and Humanities of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana-Unidad Xochimilco. He is a member of the National System of Researchers of Mexico (SNI), level 2.

Martin Retamozo

Martín Retamozo holds a PhD in Social Sciences (FLACSO-Mexico). He is Professor of Philosophy and Magister in Social Sciences (National University of La Plata - UNLP, Argentina) and independent researcher of the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET) at the Research Institute in Humanities and Social Sciences (IDIHCS-CONICET/UNLP).

Renee de la Torre

Renée de la Torre is professor-researcher at CIESAS Occidente in Guadalajara, Mexico. She has a master's degree in Communication Sciences and a doctorate in Social Sciences with a specialty in Social Anthropology. She is a member of the SNI level III and of the Academy of Science.

Kurmi Soto

Kurmi Soto Velasco holds a master's degree in Hispanic American Literature from the École Nórmale Supérieure de Lyon. She corrently serves as editor at the Centro de Investigaciones Sociales of the Vicepresidencia del Estado and is in charge of the Revista Boliviana de Investigación, the dissemination body of the Asociación de Estudios Bolivianos.

Christof Mauch is Director of the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society, Chair in American Cultural History at LMU Munich, President of the Foundation for Transatlantic Culture and Politics, and an Honorary Professor at Renmin University in China. Mauch is a past President of the European Society for Environmental History and a former Director of the German Historical Institute in Washington, D.C.
