Inés Nercesian

Inés Nercesian  is a Doctor in Social Sciences, a Master in Research in Social Sciences and a Bachelor of Sociology from the University of Buenos Aires. She is an Adjunct Researcher at CONICET based at the Institute of Latin American and Caribbean Studies. She coordinates the Electoral Observatory of Latin America (OBLAT) at the UBA and is co-coordinator of the CLACSO Working Group “Business elites, State, and domination”. She is a professor at Universad de Buenos Aires and UNDAV and teaches postgraduate courses at various institutions.

Presentación del libro: Miradas latinoamericanas a los cuidados

La conceptualización de los cuidados en la región latinoamericana y caribeña proviene sobre todo de los análisis en torno a la división sexual del trabajo, el sistema reproductivo y el trabajo doméstico, nociones que tienen sus primeros planteos en el feminismo marxista y socialista. Las miradas en América Latina sobre los cuidados también han hecho un fuerte hincapié en el cuidado como uno de los elementos centrales de una economía alternativa y feminista pero también como un componente clave del bienestar social.

La investigación en ciencias sociales y humanidades se basa en muchos casos en material empírico, parte de las fuentes disponibles. El concepto de “fuente” se define de manera deliberada en términos amplios. Incluye las fuentes históricas o contemporáneas utilizadas en la historiografía, los textos y los corpus que se emplean en la lingüística y el análisis del discurso. Pero también contiene literatura, cine, obras de arte y performances que sirven de base para la investigación.

Cristobal Villalobos

Cristobal Villalobos has a Phd in Social Sciences at the Universidad de Chile, Chile. He has a master’s degree in Applied Economics from Alberto Hurtado University and Georgetown University. Sociologist and Social Worker from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Chile. Currently, he is an Associate Researcher at the Center for the Study of Policies and Practices in Education (CEPPE UC) of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.

Alice Krozer

Alice Krozer is a research professor at the Center for Sociological Studies at El Colegio de México, with a PhD in Development Studies from the University of Cambridge. She has a master's degree in International Development and another in International Administration from the London School of Economics and the Copenhagen Business School, as well as a bachelor's degree in International Economics from the Copenhagen Business School too. She has been a visiting researcher at Stanford University, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and ECLAC.

Mariana Heredia

Mariana Heredia is a sociologist, graduated from the University of Buenos Aires and completed master's and doctoral studies at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris. She is currently an independent researcher at the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research. She is a regular professor and director of the Master's in Economic Sociology at the Institute of High Social Studies of the University of San Martín.

Rosario Figari Layús

Rosario Figari Layús is a researcher and professor at the Chair of Peace Studies at the Faculty of Law of the Justus-Liebig University of Giessen in Germany. She received her PhD in political science from the University of Marburg in Germany.  Previously, she obtained her bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of Buenos Aires and a master's degree in social sciences at the Humboldt University of Berlin.
