Alejandro Grimson

Alejandro Grimson is Full Professor of Contemporary Anthropological Theories at the Universidad Nacional de San Martín and is a Senior Researcher at CONICET (Argentina). At the Universidad Nacional de San Martín he has been Director of the PhD in Social Anthropology and Director of the Doctoral College and Dean of the Institute of Higher Social Studies at UNSAM between 2005 and 2014.

Gabriela Delamata

Gabriela Delamata has a degree in Political Science, Lawyer and PhD in Political Science and Sociology. She is an Independent Researcher at CONICET based at the Instituto de Investigaciones Políticas (School of Politics and Government of UNSAM and CONICET), Vice-Director of the IIP and Professor of Political Sociology at the EP&G and EIDAES of UNSAM. Much of her work deals with social and legal mobilization on issues of environment, habitat, citizenship and dispute for rights.

Víctor Santillán

Víctor Santillán holds a PhD in Social Science with a major in Sociology from El Colegio de México and is a member of the National System of Researchers (SNII). He is a professor of the Graduate Program in Political and Social Sciences at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. During his academic career, he has consolidated his expertise in qualitative methodological strategies, focusing mainly on ethnographic and biographical methods.

Pablo Ortemberg holds a PhD in History (École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, 2008) and a BA in Anthropology with a sociocultural orientation (Facultad de Filosofía y Letras, Universidad de Buenos Aires, 1999). He is an Independent Researcher at the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET), based at the Institute for Political Research of the National University of San Martín (UNSAM). He is Director of the Centre for Political History Studies (CEHP) of the School of Politics and Government at the same university.

Jaime Preciado Coronado

Jaime Antonio Preciado Coronado is a professor-researcher at the Department of Iberian and Latin American Studies (DEILA) of the University of Guadalajara. He has been coordinator of the PhD in Political Science at the University Center for Social Sciences and Humanities of the same University. D. in Latin American Studies from the University of Paris III. His research interests include the geopolitics of globalization and regional integration, geography of power -local, national, supranational- and democracy.

Justificación: El triunfo electoral de Javier Milei en Argentina en noviembre 2023 ha sacudido no solamente el mismo país, sino, por la excepcionalidad de su programa electoral, ha abierto muchas preguntas en toda la región latinoamericana. El nuevo gobierno está decidido de implementar una terapia de shock. Mientras que el siglo XIX y, especialmente, el siglo XX en Europa pueden ser interpretados como una era de grandes guerras interestatales, suscitadas entre los Estados nación de ese continente,1 los doscientos años de vida independiente de los Estados nación latinoamericanos, y particularmente el siglo XX, se caracterizan por la sucesión de conflictos intraestatales: guerras civiles, guerrillas, golpes de Estado y gobiernos dictatoriales-militares.
