After studying the specialty of Conservation of the Environment of the Career in Agronomy and Rural Development in Giessen, Germany, Andrés Gerique worked as a consultant in Spain before returning to Germany to obtain a doctorate in Human Geography from the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg. His doctoral thesis was on the use of biodiversity by indigenous and local groups in southern Ecuador.

Lucas G. Christel holds a PhD in Political Science and a Master in Public Policy and Development Management from the Universidad Nacional de San Martín (UNSAM). He is currently Assistant Researcher at CONICET, Director of the Bachelor's Degree in Political Science at UNSAM and Adjunct Professor at the School of Politics and Government (UNSAM).

Liliana Gómez studied philosophy and architecture at the TU Berlin, the Oslo School of Architecture and Design, Panthéon-Sorbonne and the École des hautes études en sciences sociales in Paris. She holds a PhD from the Free University of Berlin with a thesis on modernity in Latin America and cultural theories of the urban. Her habilitation and venia legendi in Ibero-Romantic Literary Studies and Cultural Analysis was obtained at the University of Zurich with a study on the theory and history of Caribbean photographic archives.

Margarita Hernández Ortiz holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences, a Master's degree in Social Sciences with a specialization in Latin American Studies and a PhD in Social Sciences with a specialization in Sociology from the University of Guadalajara.
