"Food Sovereignty: Solution for a crisis" is an approach to information about the multiple crises that occur simultaneously in our time. Food Sovereignty is a banner of struggle that supports the possibility, through its practices, to solve the complex crises we are facing. This short film is aimed at all audiences and intends to bring a proposal from Argentina and its territories through the CALISAS Network (Network of Free Chairs of Food Sovereignty and related collectives) and its "First Report on the Situation of Food Sovereignty in Argentina". It is made from the use of videos related to the subject as sources of information, so it should be considered as a COLLECTIVE short film.
How does the project contribute to more solidarity-based, socially and ecologically just ways of life and economies?
In November 2022, the CALISAS Network (Network of Free Chairs of Food Sovereignty and related collectives) published the "First Report on the Situation of Food Sovereignty in Argentina" in which an analysis of the current situation is made based on information obtained in the territory. A topic of their report is: "we celebrate, we question and we demand" and leaves proposals in five axes to build food sovereignty: Territory and Environment, Production, Commercialization, Food and Health, Communication and Education. Where all the actors are committed "to healthy, safe, tasty and sovereign food". In this role, the work of the network will seek to be "a concrete tool for the design, implementation and evaluation of public policies on food production, distribution and consumption". With the idea of approaching and sharing this model, which can contribute to the planning of future projects in the different territories of our land.
