Audiovisual work of traditional animation made with a low budget, whose cartoons use real images as scenarios of the commune of San Antonio. This local production made by authors residing in the territory addresses a contentious issue for both the city and the global environmental reality. We are in a moment where the advance of certain practices around human habits and the economic and industrial development is leading us to progressively reduced species, habitats and ecosystems whose losses are often irreversible.

How does the project contribute to more solidarity-based lifestyles and economies, as well as socially and ecologically fairer?

Today many people, both inhabitants and the scientific community, are warning about the rapid advance and the little consideration for the care for the conservation of natural cycles, which is leading us to a climatic and social crisis. It is therefore very important to raise awareness and information on these issues, in order to take better care of the cycles of nature and thus also to safeguard human life.

The short film "Los ojos de mar tienen memoria" anchors this reflection around one of the most important places in the fifth region, which is the mouth of the Maipo River and the surrounding wetlands: "Ojos de mar", a place that today is threatened by port expansion.
