Giovanna Bacchiddu es Profesora Asistente en el Programa de Antropología del Instituto de Sociología de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Recibió su PhD de la Universidad St. Andrews de Inglaterra con una tesis sobre “‘Gente de Isla - Island people. An ethnography of Apiao, Chiloé, southern Chile’”. Antes, estudió en la Universidad de Londres y la Universidad de Cagliari, Italia. Ha recibido becas de investigación de varias instituciones italianas y fue investigadora invitada en CINVESTAV, Departamento de Investigaciones Educativas, Ciudad de México.
