Kristina Dietz is a professor of international relations with a focus on Latin America in the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Kassel. She is the director of the Center for Latin American Studies (CELA) at the University of Kassel and a member of the CALAS Board of Directors. Her research encompasses socio-ecological transformation, global environmental and climate policy, the geopolitics and political ecology of the energy transition, extractivism and conflicts, critical agrarian studies, social movements, democracy and participation, and society-state relations, with a special focus on Latin America and a particular emphasis on the Andean region (Colombia) and the Southern Cone.
