Katrin Metzger is a Ph.D. student at the University of Kassel. In her dissertation project, she investigates interactions between corporate, state and local actors in the context of resource extraction in Chile and Bolivia. She studied Latin American and Ancient American Studies and German as a Second and Foreign Language at the University of Bonn and at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, as well as Cultural and Social Anthropology at the University of Marburg. She regionally concentrates her research on Latin America, especially on the Andean region and southern Chile, where she undertook field research. Her thematic interests are in environmental and conflict anthropology, postcolonialism and decolonization theories, as well as material culture.
